Hello,
Join-Path allows parent and child paths to be combined (Powershell 5.1), and more with Powershell 7 thanks to the -AdditionalChildPath argument.
It also allows you to set the appropriate / (Linux) or \ (Windows) separator depending on the environment.
# Join 2 pathsJoin-Path -Path $env:ProgramFiles -ChildPath "Microsoft Office"
# Automatic management of double separatorsJoin-Path -Path c:\ -ChildPath "\Windows"
# Test the existence of the pathJoin-Path -Path $env:ProgramFiles -ChildPath "Windows2" -ResolveJoin-Path -Path $env:ProgramFiles -ChildPath "Windows2"
# Test the existence of the path with a wildcard characterJoin-Path -Path C:\win* -ChildPath System* -Resolvejoin-path -Path C:\win* -ChildPath *.log -Resolve# The commandlet lists the existing paths matching the criteria
# Generate the same path for several players (the player must exist)Join-Path -Path C:, hklm: -Path test
# Join more than 2 items (Powershell 6 and above only)Join-Path -Path a -ChildPath b -AdditionalChildPath c,d,e,f,g
